The Yin To Your Yang

Yin and yang – feminine and masculine energy, both have to be in balance. In our current world, however, masculine energy is dominating, which demands performance, achievements, and even more accomplishments in even less time. In all of us dwells a feminine elemental force – our inner goddess. It does not matter with which gender we were born. Femininity is a part of every being – just as masculinity is. But many of us have forgotten this wonderful source of power. In this blog post, I want to show you 11 ways to connect with your feminine energy and inner goddess – for more calmness, serenity, and happiness.

Yin & Yang: What do the feminine and masculine stand for in our lives?

Goddesses were worshipped in many ancient cultures. There were goddesses of fertility and motherhood, beauty, love, peace, healing, joy, wisdom and more. In many cultures, goddesses are still worshipped today.

Are you wondering what this has to do with you and me? Are we women not a creative expression of the divine feminine?

We have the wonderful ability to create and give life and to bring the soul to earth through our bodies.
Every woman carries a divine spark within her – the divine feminine.

The universal law of polarity states that everything in life always has two sides. There is the good and the bad, health and illness, darkness and light, and also the feminine and the masculine.

The feminine energy is the energy of being, while the masculine energy is the energy of doing.

The feminine energy stands mainly for:

  • Creating
  • Primal trust
  • Receiving
  • Intuition
  • Devotion
  • Letting go
  • Community
  • Creativity
  • Inspiration
  • Dreaming
  • Enjoyment and relaxation
  • Healing

Whereas the masculine energy represents above all:

  • Implementing
  • Deciding
  • Protecting
  • Action
  • Mind
  • Controlling
  • Focusing
  • Structure
  • Force and power

Unfortunately, many women lose touch with their feminine energy today because they feel that they live in a man dominated world.

Sometimes it feels like we are faced with a painful choice: either to be strong, successful and respected, powerful and able to make our own decisions, or to be sensitive, relaxed, and feminine, capable of allowing relationships and openness but not fully standing on our own two feet.

On the one hand, we feel strong and independent, but often pay the price of becoming too cold, lonely, and hard on ourselves and others.

On the other hand, we get the opportunity to feel deeply, to know our own feelings, to accept love, to bond and connect, but face the danger of becoming oversensitive, passive, needy, dependent, or unable to make our own decisions.

Every woman and man has their feminine and masculine sides within them. The art of living happily is to find the balance between the masculine and feminine principles within us. This requires mindfulness, consistent practice, and a willingness to let go of old patterns and stubborn beliefs. It also involves learning to respect and honor the masculine nature of men.

The feminine energy is the essence of every woman, but it is her choice how to live her life. This energy is a strength, not a disadvantage, and every woman should be aware of this fact.

Why you should embrace your feminine energy and connect with your inner goddess

A woman’s masculine energy shows up when she is working toward her goals, making progress, and learning new things.

On the other hand, her feminine energy shows up when she dances, sings, loves, enjoys life, and simply creates art.

When we combine the qualities of these two energies, we live from our intuition as well as from our mind, we can take action and also take breaks, we have the right balance of control and trust. This is how we create a life of balance, ease, and joy.

But when the feminine and masculine energy are out of balance, our whole life is out of balance and this is the cause of many of our problems in our relationships, our health, our career, and our finances.

The masculine energy is the energy that helps us sustain life, but the feminine energy expresses the things worth living for.

It is also important to note that female and male energy do not express gender roles.

Feminine and masculine energy are different modes of existence, and both men and women can have these energies, and as for their roles, they decide themselves.

11 ways to connect with your inner goddess

How to connect with your inner goddess

1. Embrace the power of femininity.

For many people, masculinity is seen as a symbol of absolute power, and too often femininity is seen as a form of weakness or a subordinate role in society. Therefore, you should doubt this mindset, move on, and celebrate the unique qualities of femininity.

The Divine Femininity: For connecting with your inner goddess, you should awaken the divine femininity within yourself or follow the feminine principles. The feminine principles are caring, love, compassion, insight, intuition, creativity, forgiveness, healing, and wisdom.

2. Discover and accept your own feelings and emotions.

In order to find the inner goddess within you, it is essential that you make peace with yourself as healing is one of the feminine principles.

We all have emotional wounds, whether from our childhood or past relationships. They change our perceptions, our behavior, and our reactions.
I have written several blog posts about emotional healing:

Emotional healing allows us to live a happier, more fulfilling life and to realize our maximum potential.

3. Unleash the artist within you.

Give yourself some space and start creating, because being creative can be very therapeutic.
Just enjoy what you are doing!

Express your inner goddess by drawing, painting, dancing and simply creating beauty.
Feminine energy gives life, and without it, there would be no beauty in this world.

You don’t have to be a real artist for that. If you don’t like painting or dancing, you can go wild with your make-up and create great looks (like me as an absolute make-up fan) or put together some awesome looks with your clothes!

Whatever it is that you enjoy, let your creative vein run wild.

4. Don’t forget: it is okay to be sensitive.

This point is connected to the previous one.

In everyday life, we often have to appear tough and strong – “just don’t show any weakness!”
Now allow yourself to be vulnerable.

There’s nothing wrong with that at all because it’s just human.
Feel your feelings, the bad and the good ones. Allow yourself to cry. Your feelings are worth being felt.

5. Empower other women.

Oh yes, the constant competition between women is deeply rooted in us.

Try to support other women and stop comparing yourself to them. Your inner goddess knows that there can be other goddesses beside her!

6. Take good care of your body and mind.

Your body deserves to be pampered with self-care methods that honor and ensure your physical and mental health.
Take a bath with milk or Epsom salts as a bath additive while listening to relaxing music and surrounded by pleasantly scented candles. This way you can relax, pamper your mind and also nourish and improve your skin.

Every now and then, devote a whole day just to take care of your mental health. Spend these days exclusively doing things that relax you or make you happy. Use these days to reconnect with your (spiritual) self, because often we forget in all the hustle and bustle that “we” are actually the most important part of life. Meditate, sleep, relax, laugh, do whatever recharges your batteries.

Also, reduce your consumption of unhealthy foods and make sure you eat a balanced diet.

7. Dress the way you want.

It is your absolute right to dress any way you like. It is your body and your decision.

Women were told long enough how to dress. Now dress the way you feel comfortable and beautiful.

8. Cherish your sexuality.

Guess what, sex is not just for making babies.

Sex is one of the most important essences in life, without it you and I would not exist.

It is not something dirty, forbidden, or something to be ashamed of.
Many women have conscious or unconscious inhibitions during sex, which leads to the fact that sooner or later they feel less or no pleasure at all. And yet so many scientific studies show that sex can be extremely healing!

You can and should live out your sexuality the way you like it. Get to know your body from top to bottom and connect with it. Nothing about you is disgusting, including your period. The female body, in all forms, is beautiful and aesthetic!

Talk to your partner about your preferences and what you like because sex is also about you getting to orgasm, not just your partner.

9. Connect with your intuition.

“God made man stronger but not necessarily more intelligent. He gave women intuition and femininity. And, used properly, that combination easily jumbles the brain of any man I’ve ever met.”

― Farrah Fawcett

The intuitive voice of the heart is the most important compass in life.

It is associated with the connection to our innermost being, but also to natural forces, the universe, or an omniscient higher intelligence.

Our intuition gets often destroyed by logic. Therefore, become mindful and listen to your inner voice.

10. Be present.

Instead of worrying about the future all the time, it would be in the sense of the feminine energy to become aware of the now and to appreciate it.

It is so easy to postpone things that would actually do you well until “tomorrow” or “next Monday”.
Take time TODAY to enjoy the moment and get in tune with yourself. Be grateful for the things you have at this very moment!

You can use the journaling method for this. Take a diary and write down 3 things every day for which you are so grateful. These can be small and also bigger things. Sometimes you are just grateful that a stranger smiled at you or helped you out.

11. Spend time in nature.

Nature can have such a healing effect on us. Grab your dog or partner and go into the forest. Seeing what mother nature has created can help you connect with your feminine energy and inner goddess.

Scientists are only slowly beginning to understand just how miraculous the forest really is. One thing is already clear: the forest has a healing effect on the human organism, and this healthy effect goes deeper and is more comprehensive than has long been believed.

The fact that a walk in the green refreshes strengthens and balances the mind and body is something most people can agree on. After spending time in the woods, they feel relaxed, their minds clear, and their sleep at night is deep and restful.

In fact, it has been found that the green of beech leaves, for example, has a positive effect on the body and psyche. And if you take a look inside the body of a forest walker, you will notice after just 20 minutes in the greenery: the heart beats more calmly, blood pressure drops and only a few stress hormones circulate in the blood.
