Success is one of those things that can be described in various ways. Often we strive for what others, society, or social media want to sell us for success. Luxury cars, designer clothes, … the list goes on and on. In this post, I’ll go over Deepak Chopra’s 7 spiritual laws of success that probably will change your mindset and understanding about success, as well as about how spirituality and success are connected.

Deepak Chopra, a well-known doctor, and author describes success as the ability to fulfill all wishes effortlessly and easily.

However, success and the creation of wealth have always been associated with hard work or disadvantages for others.

He claims that we have to mentally reassess success and prosperity because health, positive life energy, mental contentment, and happiness are inner factors that cannot be realized without an appropriate spiritual attitude.

The book is already old, but I like to read it again and again. Today we are more familiar with quantum physics, vibrational fields, quantum healing, etc. Understanding and grasping the true essence of the book is probably easier nowadays than it was years ago.

The 7 spiritual laws of success that the author formulates are so simple and yet so profound, that they can be a precise guide for anyone who really wants to realize their dreams in life.

The 7 spiritual laws of success

1 The Law of Pure Potentiality

The first out of the 7 spiritual laws of success is about our pure potential.

Our true self is one with the pure potential, with the power that manifests everything in the universe.

Through silence, meditation, and regular contact with nature, we can reconnect with this power and use it to manifest.

We can also reconnect with this power by practicing ourselves in unprejudicedness.

Deepak Chopra suggests starting each day with the intention

“Today I will not judge anything that happens to me”

and to remember this sentence all day long.

2 The Law of Giving

The second out of the 7 spiritual laws of success has to do with what we give to others – and how this effects ourselves in reverse.

By giving what we search for and what we want ourselves, we allow the abundance of the universe to flow through our lives.

Actually, I have often read that if we, for example, want to manifest money, we should donate to people in need or help others out. It doesn’t have to be thousands, just some Euros or Dollars can already enhance the flow of energy through your life.

Giving, according to Chopra, is the same as taking, just different aspects of the same energy flow.

If you stop this flow, you disturb the energy of nature and the universe.

The best way to get this cycle going and the energy flowing is to give something to every person you come into contact with.

It doesn’t necessarily have to be material things – often a compliment, affection, and attention, or a silent blessing are much more precious.

You can even just smile at a person or offer your help when you see someone in need.

Chopra suggests the following intentions for your everyday life:

No matter where I go and who I meet, I will bring a gift.

and

Every time I meet someone, I will wish them happiness, joy, and lust for life in silence.

3 The Law of “Karma” or Cause and Effect

The third out of the 7 spiritual laws of success has a strong connection to the second one.

Every action generates an energy impulse.

If we choose actions that bring happiness and success to others, we will also receive happiness and success.

And what about past karma?

The first step is to pay our old debts – which happens anyway since no debt in the universe remains unpaid.

The second step is to learn from your experiences and to make them useful for your environment, which basically means to learn from your mistakes and use your knowledge to help others.

In the third step, we can transcend our karma by experiencing our true authentic selves. This is like washing a dirty piece of laundry in a clear stream, writes Chopra.

4) The Law of Least Effort

The intelligence of nature functions effortlessly, smoothly, and spontaneously, carefreely, and harmoniously.

We should take an example from our nature.

“Do less and achieve more!” is the motto.

Chopra quotes Carlos Castaneda at this point: “…the biggest part of our energy is wasted to maintain our importance…”.

If we can at least partially put this importance aside, suddenly a lot of energy is released and we can catch a glimpse of the real magnificence of the universe.

Chopra goes even deeper with the following guidelines:

Acceptance: The present moment is as it is because the whole universe is just as it is.

If you resist the present moment, you are actually resisting the entire universe.

Responsibility: Responsibility means not blaming everything and everyone for your own situation, including yourself. … Responsibility is the ability to react “creatively” to a given situation.

Non-resistance: … when you stop fighting and resisting – you experience the present moment to its fullest extent, and that is a gift.

5) The Law of Intention and Desire

The fifth out of the 7 spiritual laws of success is related to the manifestation of your wishes.

In every intention and in every wish the way to its fulfillment is already planned.

All we have to do is to seed our wishes into the field of pure potential.

“One can go to the base of creation and express an intention, and by simply expressing an intention one activates the field of infinite correlations,” writes Chopra.

6) The Law of Detachment

The sixth out of the 7 spiritual laws of success is about letting go.

If you want to manifest something in the physical universe, you have to let it go.

This does not mean that we should give up our intentions and desires – it only means that we must give up our attachment to the result and distance ourselves from it.

“True abundance consciousness,” according to Chopra, “is synonymous with the ability to have everything you want at any time and without effort.

7) The Law of “Dharma” or Purpose In Life

Everyone has a purpose in life, a unique gift, or a special talent with which he can give others.

If money was not an issue, what would you do?

If you would still be doing exactly what you are doing now, you are in the Dharma.

Because then you feel passion for what you are doing and time has a special meaning for you.

You discover the divinity within yourself and begin to contribute to the world.

Then, according to Chopra, you will realize true joy and the true meaning of success: the ecstasy and elevation of your own spirit.
